3 DRESSES TO GET YOU FROM DAY-TO-NIGHT
It's the last day of September and we are definitely entering Fall right now. Among the rainy days, there are no doubt more warmer days in tropical Singapore (which may be good news sometimes - think summer dresses!).
Many of you also requested for tips from keeping an outfit fresh and dated for the entire day, lasting from morning till night! And, might we say that we are extremely interested in this idea as well, such that this had become one of our topics to touch on. We are, too, looking forward to making use of our outfits for more than one wear, and more than one event! :)
Off-duty days call for lightweight dresses like Selena Spag Dress. One that is femininely chic without overdoing on the girly pink shades. One that can let you put down your work pressure, and have fun in. Pinstripes blue has been a stick-on in the fashion industry lately, and it certainly strikes a balance between mature and sweet. We also love the floral prints on the dress, making it even more interesting.
Day: For the day, we like to incorporate the summer essentials such as a rattan sling-bag (which as been all the rage this year), and casual espadrilles for an effortless look. As for the make-up, we are keeping it fresh and light with a tint of blush pink colour on our lips!
Night: For the night, going wilder is our aim and red is our best friend. A red structured clutch and red lips are almost a must. Pile on the accessories and heighten yourself a little with strappy heels.
What about days when you really have to make it to an event after work? It might be really difficult to transit between work-wear and a dress appropriate for events. Given that it is nearing year-end, and weddings, dinner-and-dance parties, are all coming up, we are not taking any chances. Rosebury Midi is the perfect mix of elegance and grace, with a suitable length for work.
Day: During day-time at the office, add on a dark-coloured blazer for a professional and sterner look. Medium-sized, structured, rectangular handbags are the best bag accessory to go with, and nude-coloured mules tends to dress down the look too. Complete the look with dainty necklaces and rings.
Night: When it is time for your event, leave the blazer in the office and have a change in your accessories. Small sling clutches are the way to go at parties (only large enough to hold your cards, cash, and touch-up for makeup). Up one level and switch into heels that speak poise. Add on chokers and dangling earrings that make all the difference.
And when lazy days come about, when we simply want to slip into our outfits and off we go, slip dresses might just be your best bet. Morrison Slip Dress is that dress to snuggle into on lazy days - when you do not feel like being too extravagant, yet still have to look chic enough for lunches or dinners with friends. Contrast hems are certainly a thing right now when trends are all but normal. Minimalism has taken a new turn and we are adding more details to make it more interesting now.
Day: In the day, for lunches or running errands, you will want to be in a pair of comfy sneakers. Cute and fashionable backpacks are a chic switch from the usual structured clutches. Also, remember to keep things light in the day with minimal accessories and light makeup.
Night: Night-time calls for a slightly snazzy look. Darker toned lipsticks are must-haves. Dangling earrings can't escape. And, absolutely changing out our backpacks for a modish sling-clutch.
